Zohre Elahian had joined our program “Rooydad” through a telephone call. When she was asked, how can Iran take advantage of a US on verge of decline, she answered: “Public opinion is watching all the criminal activities of the Americans and we’re not talking about the violation of human rights inside the US.”

She pointed out that the US has been involved in countless crimes against humanity. “During the human rights session of the UN, Americans received most of the memos which were based on facts and were on the record of the United Nations too.”

Elahian reiterated that the US holds the record of human rights abuse. “They’re always on the frontline of blaming others for human rights records while they are the ones who should be held accountable in this field.”

Parliament Member Zohre Elahian pointed out the ever-growing violation of human rights by the Americans and said: “They assassinated our beloved General and also our Nuclear scientists. It was a clear violation of all the international rules and regulations.”

Zohre Elahian said that there is a lengthy list of innocent Iranian citizens murdered by the Americans which includes women, children, and elderly people. “On the other hand they openly support terrorist groups and nobody dares to ask them. why?”

She recalled Saddam’s Chemical attack on Sardasht and said that he was supported by the US, “Thousands of Iranians were affected by these chemical weapons but not even a single international organization has ever answered to our plea.”

Zohre Elahian told our host that the Parliament has passed the necessary bills to support Iran’s stance on these issues which were neglected by the current administration. “We hope that the next government will take a solid step towards enforcing these laws and pursues the neglected rights of victims of Sardasht chemical attack and families of assassinated scientists and citizens.

She further said that the NGOs must assist the Parliament and the Judiciary in addressing these cases. “They enjoy more freedom on the international human rights platforms.”

“We will also follow on these cases through the international organizations.”
