Rezvanpour mentioned that the US use human rights as a cover to oppress other countries; “Human rights have become a tool to protect the United States and the West from the subsequences of crimes they have committed.”
Radio Goftgoo "Political Dialogue" program interviewed Dr. Ali Rezvanpour, an Iranian political expert on the subject of explaining and examining international demands against American human rights.
Ali Rezvanpour stated that the US government violated human rights in many Middle Eastern countries; “A clear example of violating human rights was the US support for Saddam's Ba'athist regime. Further, downing of an Iranian passenger flight was another example of human rights violations, especially since the captain of USS Vincennes was given a legion merit award.”
He emphasized that the United States and its commanders have always looked at human rights as a means for fulfilling their plans; “Last summer, George Floyd was killed by an American police officer. A few days ago, they said that the policeman who committed this crime was sentenced to 22 years in prison.”
Rezvanpour noted that the US attempt in vain to prove its claim for protecting human rights; “It’s due to the countless crimes the United States committed against human rights over the years.”
"Over the last few weeks, we have heard about the discovery of children mass graves in Canada," he said, referring to the West's long history of human rights abuses, “for decades, the Canadian government separated Indigenous children from their families and buried them in mass graves. Among those buried were three-year-old children.”
Rezvanpour called the US measures taken against Iran as obvious violation of human rights; “The comprehensive and extensive US sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which amount to 1,700 cases, are a clear and comprehensive violation of human rights. These sanctions, especially on food and health care at the peak of Covid-19 pandemic, indicate that human rights are of no significance to American authorities.”
In his remarks, the Iranian political expert stressed that human rights claims are simply a mask for the US to oppress other countries; “in fact, human rights have become a tool to protect the United States and the West from the subsequences of crimes they have committed, so that their governments aren’t questioned.”
He also explained that these countries are used to accuse others of human right violation whenever their interest calls for it, even though they are the main violators of human rights, and this indicates a plain contradiction in the West and the US actions.
