Expert of West Asian politics, Alireza Taqavinia says that from the first day, Lebanon has remained in a volatile state of existence. “The formation of the government and the nation was defective and the political power wasn’t distributed in a proper way; therefore, the people have the least control of the electing and appointment process of their officials.”

Taqaviania also said that the Christians of this country were awarded a trans-middle eastern identity while the Muslims were proud of being Arabs; thus, many regional and non-regional players misused this gap for their own desires and interfered in this country’s affairs which still remains an issue.

“These governments want to counter Hezbollah, its resistive qualities and its arsenal so it surrenders to the Israelis. For achieving this target Lebanese are being held hostage to the sanctions and embargoes; even the aid provided to the Army by the Americans follows the same objective.”

He told our host that the US wants to create a rift between the Lebanese Resistance and the Army. “The Lebanese Military has always remained a supporter of Hezbollah and an opponent of the Zionist Regime, but at the moment they are facing a serious crisis in Logistics, Armament and Finance; Most of the military men are receiving no more than 100 US Dollars in salary.”

Taqavinia further said that instead of power being distributed among the people, it was allocated to the tribes and because of Lebanon’s strategic position and location beside the Zionist entity, not only the US has maintained its political and economic pressure on Beirut but has also increased it every other day. “The magnitude of the crisis has brought the country to the verge of collapse. The Lebanese are facing the economic crunch and the fuel catastrophe on a daily basis.”

He emphasized on a serious change in the political structure and the constitution as well as returning the power back to the nation to overcome these crisis; otherwise, the disastrous condition of this country will continue to remain and the cabinet formation will be a mere dream.
