Expert on International affairs, Nozar Shafi’ei who had joined our “Rooydad” show pointed out that the Americans consider Iranians, Russians, and Chinese Business firms as abnormal because they are against the American world order.

He said that the US uses the sanctions as a tool of punishment against the non-aligned countries. “Sanctions are against all the international and political norms and moral theories and are condemned by all the countries. It’s a clear violation of the right to development of a nation.

Shafi’ei believes that the sanctions have their impact but it’s not up to the expectations of the Americans. “It’s evident in today’s world which has turned into a global village; Bypassing these sanctions has become an easy target.”

He further said that the circumvention of the embargoes makes it less effective. “While the impact of the sanctions can’t be denied, but if the US is after changing the regime or its path, they’ve not achieved this goal.”

Answering a question regarding the failure of the US’s regime change policy in Iran he added: “Every country has its level; after the revolution, Iran has regularly faced a variety of embargoes. It had prepared itself for this situation from the day first.”

Shafi’ei said that Iran is well prepared for every sanction; thus, its least vulnerable to this sort of offensive.

He also explained China’s position and called it a country with a high rate of development. “US is not in a position to restrain China.”

He told our host that the sanctions can strike back and challenge the country which has placed it on others. “We do not expect a considerable financial impact on the US but the resistance faced by them will affect their morale.”

Shafi’ei further said not only the US is unable to reach its targets by placing embargoes on its enemies but its efforts are also countered by these countries and practically, the strategic power of this hegemony is put at risk.

“On paper, the US is a superpower but when it faces a counter-attack which has forced it out of Western Asia, Washington becomes distressed; Thus, it also harms the effectivity of the sanctions.”
