Following the news of the imminent opening of the UAE embassy in the occupied territories, Mustafa Moslehzadeh, Iran former ambassador to Jordan, analyzed this issue in an interview with "Rouydad" program.

He noted that the UAE are becoming a regional base for the Zionists, and though it’s natural, it’s not acceptable; “The US authorities couldn’t develop such a foothold alone, and the Zionist regime needs a base outside the occupied territories, especially in the strategic region of the Persian Gulf.

Moslehzadeh also interpreted the UAE decision, saying that Saudi Arabia, as the US regional gendarme, has declined and that the UAE intends to replace it.

He stated that the most important advantage the US officials see in the UAE lies in the fact that it’s an Arab country located around the Persian Gulf, and in the strategic region of the Hormuz Strait. Besides, it intends to turn into an American-Israeli base, and the UAE will meet the needs of the two in this regard.

At the same time, Moslehzadeh stressed that the process of normalization of relations between the Arab countries and the Zionists after the two-day war has taken a different form; “The United States and Israel had promised the UAE to sell anti-missile missile defense system but did not fulfill their promise.”

“During the Gaza war, it became clear that American and Israeli missiles were useless; “Because Tel Aviv was totally vulnerable under the Palestinian resistance rockets.”

Moslehzadeh noted that the region nations’ support for Gaza led to the isolation of the UAE; “People in Europe, India and Pakistan joined the people of Gaza and demonstrated in support of them. When Israel has become under pressure from this public diplomacy, naturally its allies were also under pressure.”

“They have not yet taken over the regional gendarmerie and they are becoming more vulnerable as time goes on,” he added.

“The difficult economic situation in this country has intensified after Corona and the future of the UAE will be even more vulnerable,” Moslehzadeh continued.
He spoke of Muslims’, and even the Europe’s negative public opinion towards the UAE and emphasized; “I predict that groups boycotting Israeli goods would put Emirati companies on the sanctions list of Muslims in the region and Europe.”
