Muhammad Ali al-Hakim stated; “Unfortunately, Saudi Arabia and some other countries had a vicious intervention, and finally we could see that over recent demonstrations, they were distributing money among people to destabilize Iraq.”
Radio Goftogoo "Without Scrawl" had a phone call interview with Mohammed Ali al-Hakim, director of the Al-Nakheel news agency in Iraq, discussing the Iraqi parliamentary elections and its significance in the region as well as in the international system.
Mohammad Ali Al-Hakim considered the Iraqi parliamentary elections very important and vital in all respects and said; “These elections are very important both inside Iraq and in the region. With his fatwa, the supreme Marja, Ayatollah Sistani, upset the equations of some intervening countries around Iraq and in the West. They did not expect Ayatollah Sistani to issue a fatwa on the elections.”
He continued; “The West and some neighboring countries expected some corrupt people to return to work and comeback to political positions in parliament, but with Ayatollah Sistani’s fatwa, the participation increased. The higher the turnout, the less likely it is that corrupt and affiliated parties will appear in the Iraqi parliament.”
In his interview with Radio Goftogoo, the director of Al-Nakheel News Agency in Iraq, stressed that the Iraqi parliamentary elections isn’t limited to this country; “These elections plays an important role in removing the American occupying forces in Iraq. Therefore, a significant factor indicating that the Iraqi government, authority and people will not accept the presence of American and Western forces in Iraq in any way, will be the participation in the parliamentary elections.”
He then spoke of Saudis interference in Iraq and parliamentary elections and said; “Unfortunately, Saudi Arabia and some other countries have interfered badly, and we could finally see them distributing money among people during the recent demonstrations to destabilize Iraq.”
Al-Hakim pointed out that some media outlets report on Iran's meddling in Iraq; “There are two types of intervention; positive and negative. The Islamic Republic of Iran intervened positively to save Iraq and the Iraqi people from ISIS terrorists established and funded by the Saudis. Iraqis’ blood was mixed with the Iranians’ in this way, a clear example of which is the martyrdom of Qasem Soleimani and Abu-Mahdi Al-Muhandis.”
