West Asian Expert believes that the US is raising the level of tensions amid its retreat from Iraq and Afghanistan.
Abolfazl Zohrevand who had joined Radio Goftogoo’s Program “Rooydad” (Event), said that Violence won’t decrease in Iraq and Afghanistan and the main culprit behind these crises is America who’s playing the same game in Afghanistan.
He told our host that there is a meaningful connection between the incidents taking place within the two countries. “The US has a deep military presence in both the countries and now it has started a new phase of security-related tensions.
Zohrevand further said that whenever there is news of US forces decreasing their presence, suddenly instability starts to increase. “It’s not a coincidence.”
“Meanwhile some of these tensions are due to regional factors and Taliban’s position and some other is because of the role played by the political figures which should be considered.”
Zohrevand remarked on the event where these political elites signed a deal with the Americans and presented them with the authority to rule the country. He said that political leadership should have a clear vision of the future and remain responsible for the events.
He further said that the political elite whose legitimacy is because of the ordinary public, can’t blame others in case of a crisis. “Demands made by the Afghan ordinary citizens are legal, therefore the government officials must be held responsible.”
Zohrevand criticized the decision made by The Afghans and said: “Their decision was incorrect at the core. They outsourced their future and waited for external power to provide them with their security.”
He told our host that the Afghans claim that they insist on a peace plan given by the international community, while Peace and War are two sides of the same coin. If the peace and security aren’t maintained by the inside sources, the other side will show its ugly face.
Zohrevand said that Saudi Arabia has also selected the same path and has outsourced its security and authority. “Based on their wealth, The Saudis use foreign elements to execute their policies. They spend money and hire pilots for their jetfighters.”
He added that the West chose Afghanistan as a stop towards their extra-regional targets. Russia, Iran, and China are considered their main goals.
He said that countries like China, Japan, and Germany have maintained their security and stability based on their domestic capacity while Afghanistan has outsourced it as a whole. They have stopped thinking about their resisting nature and have changed their country into a state where warlords rule.
