In an interview with our “Rooydad” show Emad Helalat explained the situation surrounding the Southern Caucasus and its relationship with the collapse of the USSR. He said that Azerbaijan claims the Karabakh Area as its territory but, with the support of some states, it was gifted to Armenia.

“After Elham Aliyev came to power, Azerbaijan intensified its efforts to recapture the area which became possible during the 2020 war with the support of the Zionist Regime and the Turks; They did it.”

Later on, the Russian played a balancing role and brokered a peace deal between Azerbaijan and Armenia, so the offensive mission halts and the matters are settled through the Russian initiative.

According to Helalat, during the past 12 months, Azerbaijan has conducted 17 military drills to capture the Karabakh region. It’s an area of about 40 kilometers which connects the Nekhcevan Autonomous region to Azerbaijan.

“If such a plan is implemented, Iran will lose its connection to the northwestern countries and Europe. Baku and Ankara are the contractors of this project while the Nato, US and the Zionist Regime are the variables of this equation.”

Helalat says that Nato is after imposing its game rules on the Russians and besieging the Islamic Republic of Iran. On the other hand, the Zionist Regime wants to drag its geopolitical war to the Iranian borders; “Despite all the cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan, the Baku government has decided to be a puppet in the hands of Nato and the Americans.”

He added that Erdogan is after reviving the Ottoman Empire under his leadership which will be possible if the Caucasus and Central Asia are annexed to his reign.

“Leaked information from the Turkish political institutes, indicates a plan to create a Turk Empire under the leadership of Ankara, which even includes the Balkan region besides the Caucasus and Central Asia.

Despite Iran’s concerns and discomfort regarding this extravagant project, which has been conveyed to the Turk leadership during several meetings, Erdogan’s Neo-Ottoman Empire will be possible through cooperation with Nato, The Zionist Regime, and Azerbaijan’s leadership.
