Iranian Parliamentary Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy Spokesman; “Iran seeks a politically and security-wise stable Afghanistan.”

Abbaszadeh Meshkini pointed out the Afghanistan's neighbors summit in Tehran, which will be attended by six countries; “It’s Afghanistan’s development, prosperity and security which the Islamic Republic of Iran desires.”

Regarding the programs and activities of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Radio Goftogoo had a phone call interview with Dr. Mahmoud Abbaszadeh Meshkini, the spokesman of the National Security and Foreign Policy, broadcast by the special section "With the Spokesmen".

Mahmoud Abbaszadeh Meshkini called the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission one of the most significant and busy parliamentary commissions and stated; “After three weeks, the parliament will close for a week for the deputies to consider their constituency. This week the National Security and Foreign Policy Commissions are closed.”

He spoke of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission’s last week meeting; “Last week, meetings were held with the presence of representatives of the responsible agencies, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other ministries, in which possible scenarios of the domination system in the region was surveyed. Accurate and necessary information was obtained for analysis, and important and deterrent measures were devised to reduce the cost of their conspiracies.”

In his interview with Radio Goftogoo, the Iranian Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission spokesman pointed to other issues that were discussed and analyzed in the meetings of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission; “The Persian Gulf, and the Zionist regime's relations with the countries of the region were also discussed by the experts.”

Abbaszadeh Meshkini mentioned that issues related to the Islamic Republic of Iran and the JCPOA with European countries were discussed in the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission; “In this meeting, the events in Brussels and related visits were discussed, and some beneficial discussions and decisions were made.”

Abbaszadeh Meshkini referred to the Afghanistan's neighbors summit in Tehran and stated; “The Islamic Republic of Iran believes that Afghanistan's neighbors can help to establish stability in Afghanistan and fulfill the will of the Afghan people in determining their own destiny, and in fact Afghanistan's neighbors play the greatest role.”

He continued; “What disturbs the stability of the region and Afghanistan is the presence of supra-regional powers, and therefore the Islamic Republic of Iran is the initiator of the Afghanistan dialogue. Six countries are scheduled to attend the Tehran summit. Many proposals have been made and the Islamic Republic of Iran is offering a package accordingly.”

The spokesman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament emphasized; “Iran seeks a politically and security-wise stable Afghanistan, and it is Afghanistan’s development, prosperity and security which the Islamic Republic of Iran desires. Actually a developed Afghanistan will definitely be to Iran’s benefit as well.”
