In an interview with "Rouydad" program, “Hussein Ajorlou” explained that in Syria’s crisis, terrorism primarily affected this country while Turkey and Saudi Arabia tried to benefit from it; “Then after a while, this terrorism found way to the national security of Saudi Arabia and Turkey.”

Referring to Hakim's recent speech, he mentioned that countries in the region need a smart system to set aside short-term interests and counter terrorism.

Ajorlou continued; “Hakim also stressed on economic cooperation because economic problems and daily-life shortcomings prepare the ground for the emergence of Takfiri movements, and it seems that Mr. Hakim is particularly emphasizing on economic relations.”

"In political literature, the term 'smart' refers to a process that acts as a soft power in various situations, and in certain circumstances, appears in the form of military power,” he added.

Ajrlou stated; “By emphasis on ‘smartness’, Mr. Hakim means to point out an economic concept; he means that economic poverty in Iraq is a source for corruption, and other countries should pay attention to the economic field along with the security confrontation.".

He reminded that countries in the region shouldn’t be indifferent to each other's economic condition; “In case of terrorism revival, all countries in the region will suffer in the medium and long term.”

Ajorlou continued; “(Considering and) entering economic sector is one of the examples for ‘smart system’ in Mr. Hakim's words; this means that in international relations, we see that through non-security arenas, a good ground is provided for countries to converge.”

He also declared; “This convergence brings countries closer together, for economic interests lead them to solve their military and security problems in the future.”

"Good measures which are beneficial to economy lead to, fruitful results in the long run for the countries of the region, but if military and security issues are a serious obstacle, the prospect of convergence is far from expected," Ajorlu said.

He stated that Iraq sees itself a victim of regional conflicts; “Iraq and Iraqi politicians want the resolve of disputes between the countries in the region, especially those raised between Iran and Saudi Arabia, as soon as possible so that the tensions will be reduced.”
