Radio Goftogoo's "Political Dialogue" interviewed Dr. Emad Aslani, an international affairs expert, and he remarked on ‘a comparative study of Iran-China strategic document and the JCPOA in Iran’s diplomacy’.

Referring to China's capabilities and advantages, Emad Aslani mentioned that China is now the second largest economy in the world; “By 2027, China will take the United States’ economic position in the world, and the Chinese can arrange global political system according to their own framework of thoughts.”

He argued that China needs Iran's security and sustainable energy flow to continue its economic growth; “On the other hand, Iran has gone through the utmost sanctions in contemporary history, and the most important sanctions which have blocked Iran's economic growth are monetary, banking and financial sanctions plus those on oil sales.”

He stressed that to achieve the upper documents goals, Iran needs to invest in its infrastructure; “Iran-China 25 year strategic document leads to Chinese investment in Iran's infrastructure, especially in the sectors of energy and transit, and it supplies China's energy security and guarantees the energy flow for this country by Iran. In this perspective, Iran-China strategic document is in fact a strategic document and cooperation which can prepare the ground for many agreements based on this capacity.”

The Iranian international affairs expert stated that Iran and China can together achieve political and economic synergy in the international arena; “If this document is implemented by concluding the right agreements, it will lead to the presence of Iran and China as a power in the international arena.”

“Russia signed a similar agreement with China, and since 2019, we have witnessed a political and economic synergy between the two countries in the international arena which was to both countries’ benefit. Undoubtedly, Iran can achieve the same position,” he added.

Aslani then emphasized that Iran needs to conclude strategic agreements with its friend-countries; “It’s not a time to seek economic or political isolation for Iran, and our country undoubtedly needs such strategic agreements.”

He also pointed to the transit of Chinese goods to West Asia and Europe; “In this field, Iran can act as an intermediary for China and increase its strategic routes, which will in turn have additional economic and political value for Iran.”
