In a phone call interview with Fouad Izadi, the US affairs expert, Radio Goftogoo's "Scrawl" talk show discussed the evidences of the US failure of maximum pressure against Iran.

Fouad Izadi stated that if the policy of maximum pressure is to increase inflation in Iran, we should admit that this policy has not failed: in Iran, we have experienced serious inflation in recent months and years. Also, if it means that the Dollar’s price has not risen, then again, this policy has not failed because the Dollar price has multiplied.
He added; "When the audience thinks about this sentence that the policy of maximum pressure has failed, but compares the prices of meat and poultry and other items and goods, it seems to them that this policy hasn’t actually failed because it seriously stroke Iran’s economy.”

At the same time, Izadi confirmed the failure of “maximum pressure policy” and stated; “failure of this policy doesn’t mean that there is no inflation, but it means that this policy hasn’t achieved the goals for which it was designed. One of the US goals through this policy was regime change in Iran, they were interested to topple the Iranian government just as they did in 1953, but they couldn’t succeed.”

He noted that the US second goal was to take more advantages from Iran; “This goal was pursued after the failure of the former goal, and they even lost some of the previous advantages they gained through the JCPOA.

Izadi stressed that during his presidency, Trump pursued maximum pressure and now Biden is after the same policies; “This pressure on our people is really serious and affected their lives.”

The expert on US affairs said that the success or failure of America in implementing maximum pressure policies depends on Iran's performance and declared; “If we talk about the United States and the opportunity of JCPOA all the time and raise the price of this pact, the Americans feel that they should continue their current policy.”

Izadi considered bringing the United States to the negotiation table as Iran's second step and stated; “The last time Americans came to negotiate with us was when Iran became powerful in the nuclear field and now the reason for their tardiness is that Americans aren’t really worried about Iran’s nuclear power.”
