Abolfazl Zohrehvand, a former member of Iran’s nuclear negotiating team, told "Rouydad" program that the continuation of the Vienna Talks depends on the expert teams considering the demands of both sides regarding the cancellation of their obligations towards the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA); “The report has been sent to the IAEA Joint Commission so that it would prepare the ground for the possible upcoming negotiations with the P4 + 1.

He stated that the Vienna Talks are going on, but not in the way the Americans desired; “the US return to the JCPOA, and the lift of all sanctions and its verification, is an issue for the Joint Commission and they should come to a conclusion about it.”

Zohrehvand then indicated that the 60% uranium enrichment is especially effective; “Firstly it showed that sabotage could not stop Iran from following the path it intends to take.”

He described boasting of Iran's scientific capacity as another achievement of the move, adding; “If they disabled IR-1, we could launch the generation of IR-6 with a stronger capacity in a quite short time that confirms Iran's power.”

“The world, and especially the West, know that Iran has fully acquired the peaceful nuclear technology, and even if all of it is destroyed, we can rebuild it as a result of the knowledge we achieved in this field," added Zohrehvand .

The Iranian precedent diplomat also referred to the lack of proper response to Natanz sabotage by the opposing parties in the Vienna Talks; “This event should have overshadowed the Vienna meeting.”

Zohrehvand called on the IAEA to intervene in the technical and legal issues of member states to acquire peaceful nuclear technology.

He continued; “This technology follows uniform standards in terms of security, and the IAEA is obliged to make sure that all the nuclear activities, all around the world, is performed in a secure procedure; however, this agency concentrated more than 90% of its inspections on Iran.”

Zohrehvand called the recent sabotage extremely worrying; “The first institution that should react to it is the IAEA, and its silence indicates the negative nature of the West which is basically against the use of this technology by other countries.”

In another part of his interview with Radio Goftogo, he condemned the Atomic Energy Agency for leaking Iran's information under the Additional Protocol; “Iran has been under sanctions for decades because they claim they are worried that Iran will move towards manufacturing an atomic bomb, then why do they remain silent and don’t worry about such activities (performed by others) that are detrimental to other countries’ security?!”
