Political Analyst Ebrahim Farahani says that The Europeans are after the attrition of the Vienna Talks which is clearly against the guidelines of The Leader and The government.
Talking to Radio Goftogoo’s Program “Goftogooye Siyasi” (The Political Show) Ebrahim Farahani explained the situation of the Vienna Talks.
He said that today reviving the Nuclear Deal is a topic of its own because the political and the International situation is very much different from 2015 and 2013.
“Two countries are trying to retreat from two prolonged wars imposed on the region; the First one is The US who are withdrawing from Afghanistan after 20 years and the second one are The Saudis who after 5 years are trying to get away from the quagmire of Yemen. Thus, for analyzing Iran’s Nuclear file we must consider the regional incidents.”
He further said that the West is stressing two topics related to Iran. The Nuclear file and The Regional influence.
Before the JCPOA, The National Security Council was the authority responsible for the atomic talks which were then handed over to the government when Mr. Rouhani took the charge as The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran. On the other hand, The National Security Council is still dealing with the Saudi Arabia’s case.
“Regional situation has turned in a way that Iran can easily use it in its favor. Therefore, there won’t be any consensus happening against Iran.”
Mr. Farahani called the reciprocal steps of Iran in the nuclear field by the JCPOA and said before the Nuclear deal whatever Iran did was referred to and dealt with by the Security Council of The United Nations while today when Iran reciprocates to the scenarios created against it, such measures are out of the question. Therefore, circumstances have changed.
Farahani also pointed out the roles played by different countries in the reviving process of The Nuclear Deal and said: “Russia is in favor of an immediate revival of the Nuclear plan of action. On the other hand, European Union, by prolonging the discussions has indicated that they are not in a hurry while Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and the Government officials have made it clear that attrition of the talks is not an option.”
