In an interview with ‘Rouydad’ program, Mohammad Saleh Jokar, head of the Iranian Parliament Councils and Internal Affairs Commission, noted that enthusiasm will grow following the presence of people in coming elections, and then pointed to the enemies' attack on the Guardian Council; “In his meeting with MPs, the Supreme Leader spoke of enemies’ motives for attacking the Guardian Council.”
In his interview on Radio Goftogoo, he mentioned the Supreme Leader's appreciation of those who felt responsibility to enter the elections registration competition; “There were those whose qualifications were not approved by the Guardian Council, and those whose qualifications were not realized by the Guardian Council.”
“Our Supreme Leader emphasized that the qualifications of these people have not been rejected, it was rather about their qualifications not being realized,” he said.
Jokar stated that some of these people definitely have higher qualifications for other positions; “The Guardian Council is in charge of monitoring the elections and determining the qualifications of the presidential candidates, and during the finalization of the approvals, they put forward the specified people.”
The Iranian MP continued; “Our Supreme Leader appreciated the candidates who treated this issue politely and expressed his thanks for this issue.”
“There were those who had some objections, arguing that disapprovals would lead to a decrease of public participation in the elections,” he added.
In continuation of his interview on Radio Goftogoo, Jokar noted; “The Supreme Leader declared that the masses will participate in the elections to determine their fate for the next 4 years.”
The Iranian MP continued; “There were also those who basically stood against the Guardian Council and started to take revenge.”
