Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy’s Deputy Head Dr. Abbas Moqtadaei has rejected the recent claims made by the IAEA regarding Iran’s undeclared nuclear activities and called it an ill-temper of this agency.
Dr. Abbas Moqtadaei had joined our discussion on Iran and IAEA relations in a part of our political show “Rooydad”.
“After the bill named “Strategic Action for termination of the embargoes” was approved in the Parliament, it was decided that the both sides will return to their obligations. And a 3 month deadline was given to the inspection cameras to remain active but IAEA inspectors’ won’t have any access to these recorded footages.”
He further said that we didn’t benefit from the nuclear deal. The Government has been informed too; by carelessly providing them with extra time, we’re just offering them an advantage while on our side we gain nothing.
Answering a question about the reason behind the IAEA’s new claims regarding undeclared nuclear activities, Moqtadaei said that it’s because of their ill-temperedness. “IAEA has always used the toughest and extremely complicated inspections against Iranian nuclear centers and have never found any deviation from the path agreed upon by both the sides.”
Moqtadaei also said that the IAEA is supposed to be engaged in technical activities and not in the politics.
“We have some obligations according to the JCPOA, while the other party including the IAEA is also obliged to provide us with the necessary services and technical assistance.”
He reminded that Iran was the one who did implement the additional protocol voluntarily, while not being committed to do so; we provided the International Atomic Energy Agency with extra access, just to show our goodwill, but they breached their promises.
