A political analyst said that the negotiators didn’t follow the definite policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and compared the current situation to be suspended between earth and sky.
Following the sixth round of talks in Vienna, Yasser Barkhordari analyzed the course of negotiations in an interview with “Rouydad” program.
The Iranian political analyst noted that Americans strategy in foreign policy is based on the principle of ambiguity; “Americans foreign policy tactics are totally based on this decisive principle that has emerged in their relations with China, the European Union and other countries.”
Barkhordari continued; “No country should ever feel safe from The US, and this important issue has been considered as a leading principle before and after the Islamic Revolution.”
He went on and gave an example; “The US authorities claim that they are lifting sanctions related to the JCPOA, while our strict policy calls for lift of all sanctions.”
“The US categorize sanctions based on the JCPOA, human rights and missiles, this is while they have a lot in common,” Barkhordari added.
The political analyst mentioned; “When we intend to import drugs or have foreign exchange, or we want to enter the field of foreign investment in our country, we face another set of sanctions.”
“Such ambiguity in Americans approach means that we are suspended between earth and sky, and in this situation, one is not able to use the existing capabilities and capacities,” said Barkhordari.
He stated that this situation leads to the conditioning of our country's economy and disruption of the psychological atmosphere of the society; “The Islamic Republic of Iran pursued a definite policy in this round of negotiations and didn’t allow the United States to take advantage of short-term opportunities such as the upcoming elections.”
He noted that this strategy is owed to the Iranian Supreme Leader and is a deffence against decades of Americans behavior; “The US problem with Iraq and Libya is permanent and we do not see any certainty in it.”
In another part of his remarks on Radio Goftogoo, he called the definite policy of the Islamic Republic in favor of Iran and that it paves the way to move forward against the Americans and noted; “We have to adhere to our definite policy.”
At the same time, Barkhordari said that in his expert opinion, the negotiators are ignoring our country's definitive policy; “It can be said that we are somehow giving up our positions and turning a blind eye to some issues.”
He quoted the president and some negotiators as saying that the main sanctions had been lifted, and went on to ask whether we have major and minor sanctions.
“Regarding the policy of being suspended between earth and sky, no investors will trust us anymore because they don’t know what will happen concerning the sanctions!”
