Sadeghi said; “The enemy media’s plan to depict a minimal participation in the elections and discouraging people has failed due to the widespread presence of our people.”
Radio Goftogoo "Without Scrawl" program had a phone call interview with Mustafa Sadeghi, Mosallas Magazine editor in chief, regarding the global coverage of Iran’s recent elections.
Mostafa Sadeghi spoke about the foreign media's view of the Iranian elections; “Currently, most foreign media talk about the results of the Iranian elections. The media had maneuvered on people’s minimal participation, and until the day of voting they were expecting a 35 percent turnout.”
“Now that the election results were announced with nearly 50% participation, they closed the previous file and focused on the election results. The foreign media also argued that a decrease in people’s participation puts the legitimacy and acceptability of the regime under question, but in this case, they came to a dead-end once again and have nothing to say,” he added.
The editor-in-chief of Mosallas magazine expressed the happiness of the Resistance media for the victory of Hojjat ul-Islam Ra'isi; “Monitoring of the Resistance Movement media in Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen and all the countries where the discourse of resistance is dominant indicates that they are satisfied with the victory (of the president in waiting) in the elections.”
He pointed out; “I saw a caricature in an Egyptian channel which compared the Iranian elections with other elections in the region and conveyed the message that the countries in the region basically do not know what the elections mean.”
Sadeghi then called the Iranian election a source of pride for the country in the region as well as in the world; “Before the voting day, international media tried to turn Iran’s elections to a major weakness, while now they are forced to describe it as the Islamic regime’s strong point.”
He noted that the enemy media did their best to discourage our people from participating in the elections; “As a means for dissuading people, these media are used to misrepresent the realities of society. An old journalist who is now considered an opposition figure, published a photo of several women with normal expressions on their face. He wrote about this image that if these elections had been held in previous years, these women would have been happy.”
Sadeghi then explained; “This journalist didn’t pay attention to the fact that none of the women in the picture wore masks. In fact, he got an old photo from the archive taken years ago and turned it into a tool to destroy Iran's elections. The voting results indicate that such people and such media have failed in misrepresenting the elections.”
Referring to the attacks of some counter-revolutionary members on voters abroad, he mentioned; “The enemy media did their best to reduce people’s participation in the elections and to discourage our nation, but the widespread presence of Iranians defeated their plans.”
