Abolfazl Zohrevand says that the US has no intention of removing the sanctions which will show up during the new round of talks.
Iran’s former Nuclear negotiating team member Abolfazl Zohrevand who had joined our show “Rooydad” told our host about the Western leader’s position on the nuclear deal. “They try to show that they’re not interested in this deal anymore while at the same time try to blame Iran for non-compliance of the deal.” He said.
“But the question remains what decision will Iran make? The West has always claimed that the Nuclear deal is in their favor and have even confessed that they were the ones who had left the deal.”
Zohrevand says that according to the Western countries Iran’s current nuclear attitude will place this country in a non-compliance position. He says that the Americans have no intention of removing the sanctions while on the other hand, they want a rapid return to the deal so Iran is forced into a weaker position and is compelled to outsource its capabilities.
Iran’s former diplomat pointed out that the Americans are trying their best to activate the trigger mechanism of the deal. “This is the US who’s insisting on a return to the Nuclear deal; They consider Iran’s advances under the pact the most difficult part of the return process and know that the Iranian parliament has placed Iran into a strong position.”
Zohrevand added that the US has repeatedly asked for bold and persistent decisions to be made but they never made it clear that which side of the deal is obliged to make this decision? Iran or the West?
“What possible lever are they going to use against Iran, if it doesn’t make a bold decision? It’s not clear.”
According to Zohrevand so far Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action has had no outcome for Iran. “We must be aware that the other side has no intentions of removing the sanctions.”
“The sanctions are a set of the collection; If not removed completely we won’t gain anything.”
Zohrevand added that we must continue with our calm stance and remain solid. We must be aware that our upper hand and our position will persist if we’re strong in capabilities, especially in Nuclear science.
