Iran’s former diplomat Alireza Sheikh Attar says that for the next round of talks two documents have been issued by the higher officials which will allow the diplomats to negotiate as per a clear framework or a roadmap.
Iran’s former Ambassador to Berlin Sheikh Attar had joined our show “Rooydad” where Vienna Talks and the problems surrounding the JCPOA were being discussed.
Pointing out the three previous rounds of negotiations he said that the first round was held in the early 2000s. The second one during the last few Years 2000s which resulted in the JCPOA and the third round of talks is the current one which intends to revive the Nuclear deal.
“One of the problems which the Foreign Ministry and the first round negotiators are criticized for is the lack of a solid and detailed framework for the time being.”
The senior diplomat added that during the next rounds of negotiations two comprehensive documents were released by the higher officials which created a proper framework or a roadmap for the diplomats.
“The first strategic document contains the points which the Supreme Leader had mentioned and had insisted upon it while the other one is the legislation which the parliament had adopted; These two documents have mentioned the minute details very clearly and nobody can drag it according to his or her will.”
He insisted that the current administration should not take it for granted saying: “The Government must abide by the aforementioned framework and explain it to the other side of the talks and the public opinion across the world as well.”
Sheikhattar reiterated that in the fields of technology, defense, and knowledge-based economy we have a better position than before even from the days when the JCPOA was in action. “The Parliament’s legislation is according to the law and no one can undermine it.”
He also said that our responsibilities in the field of Missile and defensive technology are according to our revolutionary and Islamic ideology and our roadmap has been prepared in a way that no one can change it as per his will.
