The Iranian political analyst stated that the roadmap was completed with the approval of the parliament; “Conditions set by our leadership and the parliament were in accordance with international law and didn’t contradict the NPT.”
The former Iranian ambassador to Germany stressed that Iran has the proper right for 20 percent uranium enrichment and it’s not the violation of international law. He explained about Western authorities view on the future of negotiations and said; “Iran’s new government will be more resistant.”
Sheikh Attar pointed to the Western governments' avarice at the beginning of the new round of Vienna talks; “They referred to our rocket power and Iran's presence in West Asia, and of course the Iranian delegation's task with the talks was clear.”
Sheikh Attar considered the first part of this roadmap based on the leadership's emphasis; “The situation in Iran was quite obvious and left no room for any interpretations.”
Sheikh Attar, meanwhile, stressed; “Iran's argument has a legal and logical basis and is accepted by the global public opinion. It’s the United States that hadn’t fulfilled its obligations, they know that their hands are empty in every way.”
Sheikh Attar considered the Western authorities remarks as a projection to create a psychological atmosphere so that Iran may withdraw.
Sheikh Attar believes that the policy of maximum pressure has failed and that is why the Westerners are trying to make Iran hesitated so that Iranians become afraid and give up their maximum resistance.
Sheikh Attar then continued his remarks on Radio Goftgoo; “Western authorities believe that the new Iranian government is uncompromising and principled.”
In this interview with “Rouydad” program, Alireza Sheikh Attar pointed out the projection of European governments against the JCPOA; “They tried to limit our nuclear program, but when the JCPOA was signed, Israel and some Western factions declared that this treaty was not enough.”
20% Uranium Enrichment Isn’t Considered a Violation
He continued; “Over this period, the negotiating team was to proceed with a roadmap set by the highest officials of our country, and they couldn’t violate it.”
"20 percent uranium enrichment is not a violation," he stressed, “On the other hand, we can do everything in the field of uranium enrichment until we reach the threshold of building nuclear weapons!”
He stated that the task was merely to negotiate on the basis of the JCPOA, no more and no less. On the other hand, Iran's specific rights according to the international law left no room for bargaining; “The Westerners could see that they couldn’t do anything under such circumstances.”
He said the government's task was defined on the basis of a set of principles; “Westerners tried to weaken our spirits prior to the negotiations.”
"The new Iranian government seems to be more resistant," he said.
