Political expert Mehdi Fazaeli denied the allegation that the Supreme Leader has placed a prohibition on imported vaccines saying: “Despite all the heavy propaganda, the Leader has never placed such a restriction on foreign sourced vaccines
Mehdi Fazaeli had joined our show “Bedoune Khatkhordegi” where the rumors about the aforementioned news and the allegations spread by the non-Iranian Farsi channels were being discussed.
“When a crisis takes place in a country the rumors emerge and when its related to the health sector of a society, the gossips multiply. The sensitivity increases and an emotional dimension intensifies the problem.”
He added that the people have the right to follow the information regarding the issues related to their health and vaccination. “such a situation, paves the way for the for the falsified news, which could be seen in the case of inoculation and the Leader’s order.”
Mehdi Fazaeli who had joined our show through a telephone call answered to a question regarding the news that if the Pfizer vaccine had been imported it would’ve controlled the death rate saying: “I’m not a medical professional but the authorities of the Health Ministry and the scientists have put forward lots of information in this regard which denies such claims.”
He called the allegations targeting the Supreme Leader that his excellency has prohibited the import of foreign vaccines as baseless and falsified and said that a heavy propaganda was conducted which targeted Ayatollah Khamenei while he had never ordered to restrict the imports of the vaccine. “Although the Leader had a clearly stated his position on this topic but when the environment becomes grimy then a clear topic may also become obscured.
Fazaeli also said that the Supreme Leader spoke about the import of the Vaccine at the 8th of January 2021 for the first time. He used a clear phrase. He never mentioned a particular “vaccine” in this speech but stressed on the need to import it. The Leader had stressed that because of their enmity towards Iran, the import must not take place from The US, UK and France.
“The leader had insisted that the vaccines made by these 3 countries must not be used but there isn’t any restriction on importing them from other states and if a vaccine is produced by the US and some other country simultaneously, it can be sourced from that other state. For Example, Astrazeneca vaccine is produced by the UK but also by the South Korea and we’re importing it from Seoul.
