In a conversation with our “Rooydad” show, Dr. Emad Abshenas has said that the Negotiations are done and the JCPOA is ratified so the current round of talks is aimed at implementing this contract.

“The Nuclear deal was aimed at bringing the sanctions to an end; otherwise, why should have Iran give up its rights and accept restrictions on its nuclear program?”

Abshenas added that Iran is a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty which gives the member states the right to enrich Uranium and possess the complete nuclear cycle; On the other hand, the Zionist Regime is not part of the Treaty and must be pressurized accordingly.

Dr. Abshenas pointed out the Deputy Foreign Minister’s visit to Europe and said that execution of the obligations by the Western signatories to the JCPOA will remain as the key point and axis of the forthcoming negotiations; “Iran could’ve directly get engaged with the Americans, but the other member states of the Security Council and European Union jumped in, stating that they can pressurize Washington into its obligations; they knew that the US won’t stay committed to international deals.”

He said that the Americans try to politically demonstrate their eagerness in rejoining the Nuclear Deal and restarting their commitments; but in practice, they bar the path towards the restoration of the pact which is the main reason behind the failure of six rounds of the talks in Vienna.

Abshenas Believes that American gluttony has flopped the negotiations while still, they’re neglecting their commitments. He said that the rest of the signatories to the JCPOA are obliged to remain committed to the deal but the Europeans only present some empty promises to justify their lack of contribution as a side to the pact.

“Previously, we were already facing the US’s primary and secondary sanctions which were mostly neglected by the other countries; It didn’t put us in any serious trouble but the Embargoes imposed by the Security Council forced many countries into blocking Iran’s access to the global banking system.” Dr. Abshenas emphasized.

He further said that during the JCPOA talks we expected that if the US defies its obligations, the EU will extend its Supportive Umbrella program for Cuba towards Iran as well. “It was a plan to support the banking and commercial companies of Cuba against the US sanctions. It didn’t happen.”

Dr. Emad Abshenas believes that Europe has reached the conclusion that the current stalemate can be resolved by the JCPOA; nevertheless, even a minute change in this deal isn’t possible without dismantling and renegotiating it completely. “Iran is also not satisfied with the current pact.”: He said.
