A Political Analyst has said that all the Iranian demands for removal of the sanctions and verification of the US’s compliance with the Nuclear Deal are legal and in line with the JCPOA.
In this episode of “Goftogooye Siasi” we discussed the strategies and requirements for the new round of nuclear talks with the Head of the “Dialogue & Strategic Contemplation Development Institute”, Dr. Qasem Alidousti.
Dr. Alidousti pointed out that the previous six rounds of discussions were held between the signatories minus Iran saying that both sides of the dialogue claim that the talks had been significantly fruitful while at the same time acknowledging the existence of some differences.
Qasem Alidousti emphasized that one of the basic disputes is because of the American insistence on the preservation of some sanctions.
“The US never believed in the removal of all the sanctions, because their main target is to contain and limit the Iranians; They’ve always remained committed to this target.” He said.
Alidousti further said that the Americans also insist on a reciprocal action for the sanctions to be removed, which is the reason for them not providing any guarantee.
“The US and Iran got engaged in discussions and the Nuclear Deal by implementing some mutual steps which created a dark and a vague environment for the Iranian side; in fact, it was an American move to obscure the environment and push Iran into a trap which was avoided because of the awareness of the Iranian Leader.” He said.
Dr. Alidousti emphasized that the Administration of Mr. Rohani insisted on reaching a new deal rapidly saying: “Such anti-national decisions and prioritization of personal and partisan interests over the national one is absolutely strange and unacceptable.”
He further said that the current Iranian administration is starting the new round of discussions at such a time when indifferences between the two sides of the discussions have reached the peaks, especially with the US. “The Americans insist on the continuation of meetings between the members opposing Iran.”
Alidousti told our host that Iran won’t renegotiate the JCPOA, but the discussions are intended to remove the sanctions which is the main sketch of the discussions presented by Tehran. “Iran hasn’t left the deal, therefore, the US is the one who must return to the JCPOA; their exit and re-entry can’t be without a penalty and the retribution is to accept the conditions set by the Iranian side.”
He insisted that the Iranian conditions are fair and legal, saying: “Tehran has demanded the Americans to provide a guarantee that they won’t leave the Nuclear Deal again and won’t interconnect the JCPOA with other topics, which is absolutely under the Nuclear Deal and is legal.”
