Political analyst Dr. Alireza Koohkan told the “Rooydad” show that the angle of approach towards the negotiations has changed in the new Iranian administration.

“The one who left the deal is the US, while the discussions are aimed at compensating Iran. In that case, Tehran will also restart its obligations under the JCPOA.” Koohkan said.

He also said that the ex-Foreign Minister, Zarif wrote in his book that from 2013 until 2015, the Nuclear Talks were focused on the Iranian atomic activities, while the discussions on the sanctions were limited to the last two months of the final negotiations. The Americans did this job in an insinuating manner.

“In this round of discussions we must focus only on the sanctions; Iran’s commitments is a secondary topic. The teams on the other side of the table aren’t trustworthy at all; thus, the initial discussions must be focused on the commitments of the Americans.”

Dr. Alireza Koohkan also pointed out the presence of the legal arm of the Iranian negotiation team in Vienna and said that every international dialogue is consisted of two dimensions; politics and details.

“We’re in a constant need of Professionalism. Unfortunately, the previous team had this assumption that they’re needless of advices.” Koohkan said.

He further added that at this time we will benefit from this national approach.

“Previously, it was said that any agreement is better than no agreement, but now we’ve understood that discussion is not the real target; neither the negotiations is a tool of avoiding aggression, nor it’s a way to gain prestige.”

In this short interview, Dr. Alireza Koohkan added that we need a meaningful change in our economy; thus, we must observe the details because the other side of the negotiations is not willing to provide any concession.

“Washington neglected the JCPOA after it was signed in 2015, but we’re obliged to comply with its details; because the international relations are not in our favor.”
