Canaani Moghaddam stated that the 13th government’s policy in nuclear talks is absolutely logical; “The negotiating team is result-oriented and isn’t after vain and fruitless negotiations. This team went to Vienna to reach a precise answer.
Radio Goftogoo's "Political Dialogue" interviewed Dr. Hossein Kanani Moghaddam, an Iranian political expert, regarding the consequences and achievements of the December 29 talks in Vienna.
Hussein Kanaani Moghaddam stated that the nuclear negotiations has been a 20 to 25 year process accompanied with events, teams and also different views; “Without a doubt, the JCPOA should reach a conclusion and we’re not after vain negotiations. We can’t just waste time like this.”
"Once there were six resolutions issued against Iran, and we were under Chapter VII of the UN Charter, meaning that we were considered as an international threat.”
The Iranian political expert stressed that the 13th administration's nuclear talks is absolutely based on a logical policy; “The negotiating team is result-oriented and isn’t after vain and fruitless negotiations. This team went to Vienna seeking a precise answer. I believe that negotiations are not the first priority of our country; rather the economic, social and security issues are our priority. The JCPOA is just one of our foreign and nuclear issues; while Mr. Rouhani's government had tied all the issues of the country to the JCPOA.”
He stressed that the West made use of the UN sanctions, trade sanctions, economic blockades, economic warfare and economic terrorism to counter Iran; “In the nuclear talks, the West should make up for the US withdrawal of the JCPOA. They didn’t fulfill their commitments and this has caused damage to Iran because the Islamic Republic of Iran has fulfilled its nuclear obligations.”
In his interview with Radio Goftogoo, Kanaani referred to the West's repeated claims that Iran was trying to build an atomic bomb; “The Iranian Supreme Leader's fatwa banning the nuclear bomb is a both legal and religious obligation. On the other hand, the Zionist regime has about 400 nuclear warheads and threatens Iran every day, and in such circumstances, what guarantee can they give Iran that Israel will not commit crimes?
The political expert then pointed to the destructive actions of the West and the Zionist regime against Iran; “The Zionist Prime Minister threatens Iran every day and on the other hand they bombard our nuclear facilities, assassinate our nuclear scientists and commit hostile actions, but no other country is responsible for these actions. The logic of world peace has challenged the logic of the United Nations and the logic of the Security Council, and Iran get an answer to this in the nuclear negotiations.
