In an interview with "Rouydad" program, Abolfazl Zohrehvand referred to the proposal of Western parties involved in the Vienna talks to return to their capitals and said; “The negotiations have become heavy and exhausting.”
He continued; “The other side had no practical initiative and only made its demands, but the Iranian side did serious expertise and is focused on negotiations.”
He stated that the other sides have no will to meet Iran's demands; “There is no guarantee that the other sides will not break the treaty again.”
“Western officials also agree that there’s no other solution than negotiation, but that the agreement has its top and bottom lines, and all sides agree that they have to reach an agreement at a minimum level.”
According to Zohrehvand, the United States is the main player among the Westerners and yet, it’s not present in the talks, but the American authorities’ statements are important. Meanwhile, a US official stated that there are no guarantees in international relations, and this complicates issues.”
“Well, why didn't the Americans announce this issue over the JCPOA so that the Iranian side wouldn’t take Kerry's signature as a guarantee in the previous talks?!” He added.
He continued; “Today, Biden is in the worst situation and in foreign policy, he only hopes for an agreement with Iran. In the meantime, the main culprit is Trump, who both Iranians and the Americans acknowledge that any harm we see is due to his irrational actions.”
In this interview with Radio Goftogoo, Zohrehvand spoke of the EU foreign policy chief expressing hope that there can be a partial agreement on some issues of controversy.”
The political expert then claimed that the opposing parties, especially the Americans, have no way forward. So the Americans are using every trick in negotiating to impose maximum pressure on Iran so that will be degraded and deceived.
He stated that today, the main issue for Americans is re-entering the JCPOA; “They know that if the don’t return to the JCPOA, the trigger mechanism cannot be used; especially since Russia and China recognized the legitimacy of Iran as well.”
Zohrehvand emphasized that there’s no possibility of any war against our country; “They say that by using allies such as Japan or Korea, they will impose tougher sanctions against Iran; but what can they do that they have not done so far? There’s already nothing left to boycott!”
He also stressed; “The return of the United States to the JCPOA will only take place through the consent of Iran. Today, the condition is to the Americans’ detriment, and the scene of negotiations is a witness to this saying.”
