In our special show “Asre Enqelab” we discussed the previous four decades of the Islamic Revolution and the strength for the second step of this revolution with Hossein Anvaari who is the confidant of the Supreme Leader and Member of the Board of Trustees of the Imam Khomeini Relief Committee as well as a Mo’talefe Party member.

Hossein Anvaari emphasized the necessity of remembering those events so the achievements of the Islamic Republic of Iran become understandable. “The Islamic Revolution was a result of sacrifices and endeavors [of the nation] which prepared the ground for the arrival of Imam Khomeini to the scene and start of the movement.” He said.

He further said that during the Shah’s corrupt and tyrant rule, citizens were deprived of their right to decide which included their personal lives as well. Shah assumed, by keeping up the pressure through his secret service (SAVAK) and obeying his western masters he’s able to keep his monarchy. “People were fed up because they were facing a system which didn’t represent them. The establishment was a tool which only guaranteed the interests of the tyrant powers.”

Hossein Anvaari also pointed out the hardships and challenges faced by the Islamic Revolution during the past years and told our host that despite the problems which led to difficulties, we emerged stronger which benefitted the revolution as well.

He also called facing the enemies on the international and domestic front and recognizing their enmity, another experience gained through the forty-year-old movement, and said that the war which was imposed on this country led to the development of our skills. “Most of the ones who joined the front were inexperienced soldiers and had never held a weapon but the war paved the way for a valuable experience on the military front.”

Anvaari added that during the holy defense a solid, centralized, and determined management turned this war into a center of growth for the youth; “Although the amount of damage received was extensive but the sacrifice of our martyrs turned the sapling of the Revolution into a strong tree.”

He also stated that the Islamic Revolution is a challenge to the world-endeavoring powers and said that managing the people and guiding them towards dignity and nobility was a path which we had to step upon; “it helped the nation to gain experience and cognition as well.”

Hossein Anvaari paid gratitude to the ones who made sacrifices throughout the past four decades of the Revolution and said that during the 8 years of the defense, many more sacrifices were made behind the front lines which unified the Iranian families from across the country.
