“Bedoone Khat-Khordegi” show hosted Abolfazl Zohrevand on the latest developments of the Vienna talks.

Zohrevand told our host that the negotiation process is considered as smooth by the 4+1 group of countries and also Iran. “Some of the 4+1 negotiators especially Mr. Ulyanov who represent Russia, believe that the talks have reached their final moments and are totally within reach.

He firmly said that the Iranian negotiators have put forward their arguments logically and rationally; “team of experts of the other side has also provided some solutions and now the problems seem solved. There are some conjectures that a deal will be signed in ten to twelve days.

Abolfazl Zohrevand pointed out the different positions of the Americans saying that uncertainty has increased among the Americans. “Some of their statesmen have called the future of the talks dark and unforeseeable and have also given some reasons to prove their point.” He added.

The political analyst further said that some of the American Senators of both the major parties have prepared such drafts that even their allies call it unacceptable. “It’s intended to nullify the talks; according to their plan Iran must completely give up its nuclear program.” He said.

Zohrevand also called this a move to buy time and delay the negotiations and said that the main concern of the Americans is not Iran’s Nuclear Program but a deeper issue; “They’re concerned about the challenges targeting their global position created by China, Russia, and Iran. These challenges are not linear; these three players have become a national security issue for the Americans.” He said.

He raised this point that the Americans are tangled with the Ukraine conflict at the moment. “Washington started the game. Now they want to push the Russians into the trap.”
