A professor of international politics believes that the time has come for the other side of the nuclear negotiations to give concessions.
Political Academic Ahmad Fateminejad who had joined us in the “Rooydad” show, has said that the current round of talks is one of the most extensive ones which has reached a sensitive stage.
“Last week all the negotiators took a break and returned to their capitals for political decisions; now they have returned to Vienna to continue the process.” He added.
Fateminejad added that the news, rumors, and tweets indicate different points of view regarding the issue which has a double dimension; some believe that the negotiations are on the final stage while some others assume that the complexities won’t let the issue be settled soon.
He pointed out Iran’s serious political role in the advancement of the talks and said that the Iranian negotiating team is demonstrating its consistency to make the talks as fruitful as possible. Fateminejad called the Deputy Foreign Minister for Financial Affairs’ trip to Vienna as a clear indication of Iran’s seriousness.
Ahmad Fateminejad insisted that the American team is delaying the process. “They must bring down their deceiving attitude and lessen their media propaganda to make the talks fruitful.” He added.
He also said that from the first day, the Americans dragged the case to the media and presented their own version to the public opinion. “The US engages in negotiations with other countries of the region and on the other side puts forward its domestic problems to avoid giving any concession to the other side of the table. Ever growing tensions could be seen among the American negotiating team too.” He said.
Fateminejad emphasized that the Americans must make a quick decision and focus on a successful deal. “If the US opts for such an attitude, the talks will continue and a good deal will be possible; Contrarily, if Washington continues with underlining the fringes, it will indicate that the problems still exist and the situation is complicated.” He added.
Fateminejad further said that the problem and its solutions are clear. He added that a piece of news came to the surface that Iran has offered a new package. It puts the other side of the deal in a position to make a decision. “It also complicates the situation for the western countries, because they’ll force them into offering concessions; Under these circumstances, we do not need to extend the talks.”
Ahmad Fateminejad insisted that Iran must make a political decision.
