The Iranian West Asian expert pointed out the divisions in American foreign policy and stressed that Biden's stance on Saudi Arabia was entirely in line with the United States interests.
In an interview with "Rouydad" program, Mojtaba Amani spoke about the recent news indicating that the US is changing position towards Saudi Arabia, “The US policies are deceitful, besides, the roles are being distributed inside the country.”
He emphasized that the Senate resolution was a clear signal showing that the US goal was not to restrain the Saudis; “Americans have long offered their aid to Saudi Arabia, and now all weapons used by the Saudis are made in the United States.”
Amani continued that American weapons are constantly sold to the Saudis and even their usage technologies are available to Saudi Arabia; “Biden is in no way different from Trump in such policies, only that each takes a specific gesture.”
“At the time of Morsi’s fall and Al-Sisi’s take of power, there was exactly a distribution of roles among the Americans, and while the White House was apparently defending Mohamed Morsi, the US intelligence service had a direct connection to Al-Sisi,” he added.
Amani noted that the US authorities generally pretend to defend human rights, and that even the “Muslim Brotherhood” was once deceived by such positions; “If they had a right vision about the US policy, they wouldn’t have acted like that”.
The West Asian analyst explained that according to their policies, the White House authorities try to present a popular image of themselves, this is while their security outlook prevails over their foreign policy; “When Ansar-Allah came to power, some voices in the United States reached to help the Saudis leave Yemen.”
“American officials act on their own interests, and defending human rights isn’t actually a deep-rooted slogan on their part,” said Amani, “If Ansar-Allah succeed to change the political and military scene in Yemen to their benefit, the United States will certainly pursue another solution, but if no voice is heard from Yemen, the Americans will fully support the Saudis.”
Amani mentioned that the US analysis of Ansar-Allah is that they are a group pursuing the Resistance policies in the region; “This includes Iran, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon.”
