Majid Mohammad Sharifi said: “A return to the Nuclear Deal is in the strategic interests of Washington; Therefore, US has serious intentions of returning to the JCPOA.” He claimed.
Dr. Majid Mohammad Sharifi Joined The show “Political Talk” of Radio Goftegoo where different aspects of The Vienna Meeting were being discussed. Majid Mohammad Sharifi said that contrary to the claims that the West is engaged in Meetings just for the purpose of meeting and they do not have any serious intentions of returning to the JCPOA, there is a will to do so.
He Asserted that US’s return to the Nuclear Deal has an important role in this country’s strategy and as a result there is a strong will of return to this pact.
Mr. Sharifi pointed out the changes which resulted in Biden’s decision to return to this deal and said that U.S. has acknowledged that the only path towards an understanding with Iran goes through the diplomatic process and if these requirements seemed unnecessary then Biden would have followed the footsteps of his predecessor in maintaining The Maximum Pressure Policy.
He further claimed that if we try to observe the changes then it will become clear that even if Trump was elected again, He too had opted for the dialogue. Thus, Trump was using the Maximum Pressure as a tool of dragging Iran to the discussion table. Trump & Biden have the same target but their Strategy of reaching this goal differs due their separate set of assumptions.
Making his point clear Mr. Sharifi further said that there lies a reason on the strategic side of the story; US has come to this conclusion that it has stepped into the era of a competition between the big powers and it can’t be concealed. China has emerged as a superpower which has challenged the US Dominance and has become a grave danger for it.
He further added that all of the American political academics have come to this conclusion that China is the biggest and the most complicated rival of the US; Therefore, they can’t repeat the mistakes which were made before in dealing with The Chinese. They’re in a dire need of a solution to contain the China wave.
