Hamas Modelling Hezbollah in 33-Day War against Zionist Regime

“Regarding Hezbollah superiority in the 33-day war, this experience was passed on to brothers in Hamas, and today we see our brothers in the Gaza Strip following the pattern in which the 2006 Lebanon war was carried out,” said Dstmalchian.

Radio Goftogoo’s ‘Without Scrawl’ program had a phone call interview with Ahmad Dastmalchian, an Iranian West Asia expert, about the confession made by an Israeli security expert to the Zionists' inability in restraining Hamas missiles.

Ahmad Dastmalchian stated that the Zionist regime was severely defeated in the 33-day war in 2006; “For the first time in that war, the Iron Dome was defeated and was proved ineffective, and the Zionist regime's air defenses were virtually disabled and couldn’t intercept any rockets.”

He then pointed out the failure of the Iron Dome to intercept the drones; “Given the superiority of Hezbollah in the 33-day war, this experience was passed on to the brothers in Hamas and Islamic Jihad, and today we see our brothers in the Gaza Strip following the pattern in which the 2006 Lebanon war was carried out, and some cities such as Tel Aviv and Haifa are hit by missiles.”

The Wet Asia expert noted that Hamas rockets hit important ports in the occupied territories; “Hamas rocket operations are being carried out on a large scale. Israel isn’t fully capable of intercepting Hamas missiles because of their large volume and the geographical scope covered by them.”

Regarding serious consequences affecting the Zionist regime’s credit and prestige, he said; “The consequences of this defeat will be even more revealed in future, since the residents of the occupied territories don’t feel psychologically safe, and as a result we’ll notice its impact on the regime's economy.”

Dastmalchian acknowledged the Zionist regime's inability to intercept Hamas missiles; “The Zionist regime's defeat in the 2006 war against Lebanon was a very important turning point in Resistance history. Before, the Zionist army was supposed to be invincible. It was considered impossible for the rockets to pass through the Iron Dome. But in that war, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah announced some specific points (as targets) and then Hezbollah hit the same points by its rockets.”
