“One of the great achievements of the Resistance Front and Palestine was the unprecedented convergence between all Palestinian groups, which could advance Palestine's future plans,”
According to Radio Goftogoo’s news site, Shahidi, an analyst on West Asia affairs, had a phone call interview with ‘Rouydad’ program discussing the consequences of the 12-day war for Israel in its recent conflict with Gaza.
Shahidi considered the dimensions and consequences of this 12-day war to be very extensive and noted; “According to the Zionist regime's internal circles and media, this war is even wider than previous wars such as the 33-day war against Lebanon, the 22-day and 8-day wars.”
He highlighted the widespread convergence of Palestinians, from the Gaza Strip to Jerusalem and the West Bank as one important proof indicating the importance of recent war and added; “Even the 1948 lands inhabitants entered the war.”
The West Asia analyst pointed out the new weapons and missiles revealed by Resistance groups in the battle as another reason, and cited that the Israelis themselves acknowledge that this issue had totally changed the equations of war and affected its military and security dimensions.
Shahidi continued; “All these events made the Tel Aviv authorities deeply concerned and put them in a situation that they didn’t want the war to last any longer. The Zionists finally agreed to a ceasefire, besides, they accepted the demands of the Resistance. These are definitely proofs of implicit confession to their defeat.”
In response to this question that whether Netanyahu's purpose of this war was to improve his political image, Shahidi said; “We witnessed celebrations in Gaza, but inside the Zionist regime, despite Netanyahu claiming victory, there was no sign of happiness and victory, rather we could see protests and campaigns against Netanyahu there.”
“One of the reasons for Israeli protests was that Netanyahu sacrificed the greater good of Israel and its security for his personal interests,” said the West Asia analyst.
Shahidi described fomenting security issues and projection as Netanyahu's constant policy for consolidating his own political position and goals; “This policy has become an old trick, as the Israeli press and media have been sharply critical of Netanyahu during these days. That is because he made the fate and security of Israel a plaything for his own personal goals.”
He also noted that Israeli strategists will not easily overlook the lessons and consequences of the recent war; “One of the great achievements of the Resistance Front and Palestine was the unprecedented convergence between all Palestinian groups, and this convergence could advance Palestine's future plans.”
