An Iranian expert on regional affairs believes that the United States had given up hope on Saudi Arabia and is unilaterally meddling in Yemen political arena creating a new axis against Ansarullah.
In a live interview with "Rouydad" program, Saeed Pirmohammadi discussed US latest goals in Yemen; "At the regional level, we can see that apparently the US forces are about to leave the region, but we should verify this."
At the same time, he analyzed the US game in the region as moving troops, and not leaving West Asia; "We could see the changes in Afghanistan and the US scenario in this country in order to create a political vacuum, and then we saw that US forces left Afghanistan and were sent to Yemen."
Pirmohammadi continued; "In this regard, we saw the convergence between the United States and the United Kingdom, and their joint military maneuver on the coast of Yemen."
This political expert stated that move of American forces took place after the balance of power was changed by Ansarullah in Yemen: "After Saudi Arabia used al-Qaeda elements, we saw that Yemeni Ansarullah was able to liberate two strategic cities within 72 hours."
According to Pirmohammadi, the Americans are seeking to create a new front against Ansarullah in southern Yemen. They are also looking for a new strategy to recreate an issue in Yemen; therefore, they turned to the east of Syria and reached the key Syrian crossings."
He continued; "The United States intends to block the passage on which the axis of resistance plays a key role and occupy the Syrian oil fields."
Pirmohammadi argued that the provinces of southern Yemen are of interest to the Americans in terms of oil production, and that they are trying to take control of these oil fields.
"After observing the conflicts between the Saudis and the Emiratis in Yemen, the United States had given up hope on Saudi Arabia and is unilaterally meddling in Yemen political arena creating a new axis against Ansarullah," said this West Asia analyst.
"Biden first announced that we would remove Ansarullah from the terrorist list and pursue a political strategy in this regard, but in action, changes are moving towards militarism and the United States is fueling the Yemeni military crisis," Pirmohammadi told Radio Goftogo.
