"The US officials failed in Afghanistan and couldn’t achieve their goals, so they were forced to leave the country," he said in a live phone call interview with "Rouydad" program.

He said the United States had spent $ 2 trillion in Afghanistan, but their situation was worsening day by day and they had no clear perspective for the future. He likened the US forces withdrawal to that in Vietnam, adding, “Afghanistan's crisis is confusing the country's eastern borders, but that does not mean that the United States should not leave the country.”

He stated that the American authorities imposed lots of financial burdens on their people; “Eighty-five thousand troops left Afghanistan during Obama’s presidency, but the rest were kept in Afghanistan so that the situation might improve and they can leave this country victoriously, but this has never happened.”

“We don’t claim to determine the fate of the Afghan people, but the fact is that Afghanistan is a complex, multicultural and multilingual country, and therefore none of its groups and tribes have absolute sovereignty over the country,” he said.

Rouysefat declared that all groups should participate in the sovereignty of Afghanistan; “The Islamic Republic of Iran is interested in forming an inclusive government in Afghanistan. On the other hand, we are interested in peace and stability so that our borders will be secure.”

He noted that Afghanistan's development means a reduced number of Afghan refugees in Iran; “Afghanistan's webinar in Iran seeks to bring all Afghan groups into the game, consisting of the Taliban and the government, as well as Hazara Islamic parties, Uzbek, Turkmen and Pashtun.”

“Iran seeks to put all these groups around a table and encourage a political solution, and it should be kind of inter-Afghan negotiation,” said Rouysefat.
