In an interview with "Rouydad" program regarding Lebanon’s political process and the coming to power of Najib Miqati, Seyed Hadi Seyed Afeghi said; "Mikati, who has accepted the post as the country’s Prime Minister for the third time is now facing Internal, trans-regional and regional challenges."

He did not consider the previous challenges to be dangerous, complex and pervasive and stated; "Today, Mikati is facing problems inside Lebanon, especially the US sanctions that have pervaded this society.”

"Unfortunately, some affiliates of the Western system, especially the head of the Central Bank, created serious financial crises and banking transactions," he said, referring to the declining value of the Lebanese lira.

According to this West Asia analyst, the main goal is to put pressure on Lebanon's Hezbollah to lose its social support and be forced to surrender.

He also considered the issue of the explosion of the port of Beirut important; “70% of Lebanon activities and trade started from this port and all political currents were interested in it.”

"They mention that researches are necessary for rebuilding the port, but this is an excuse. China, the UAE and Turkey announced that they’re willing to rebuild the port," he said, referring to the Americans' refusal to allow the reconstruction of that strategic port.

He mentioned financial issues and the paralysis of the economy following the Corona outbreak as another obstacle, saying that Lebanon’s Ministry of Health had not yet been developed to normal standards.

Seyyed Afghahi considered the terrorist attacks around Lebanon, along with the acute political problems within the society, as another issue that Mikati should encounter with; “The ministries should be divided between different tribes and political groups in Lebanon.”

"Saad al-Hariri's problem was his dependence on abroad," emphasized this West Asia analyst in his interview with Radio Goftogoo, “He has triple nationality, so the first veto was formed by Saudi Arabia to form a cabinet.”

Seyyed Afghahi continued; "Mikati has good relations with Saudi Arabia, France and Iran, and these three pillars can help him to form his cabinet."

"Mikati promised that he’ll soon form a government in Lebanon," he added.

Seyyed Afghahi stressed that one of Mikati's missions is to prevent the collapse of Lebanon and to calm the situation, and that is why the French have promised to help him.
