Head of the human and citizen rights research institute pointed out the benefits of the anti-terrorism laws and organizations active in this subject saying that such national offices can react to the terror events immediately and effectively and at the same time supporting the victims of these acts.

Seyed Mehdi Qavami who is a professor of Imam Sadiq University and the Head of the human and citizen rights research institute had joined our show “Bedoune Khat-Khordegi” where the human rights topic was being discussed.

Seyed Mehdi Qavami said that from the first day of the revolution, the Islamic Republic of Iran was facing multiple challenges including the assassination of its senior officials and even ordinary people. “With the support of multiple secret services several terrorist organizations assassinated thousands of Iranians including ordinary citizens.”

He pointed out that after the revolution more than 17000 Iranian citizens were murdered by these groups. “That’s why we commemorate the 30th of August as the Counter-Terrorism day and honor the victims of the terrorism at this moment.”

He also said that the MKO was one of the terrorist groups which were engaged in the mass killing of the Iranians. “The slain people belonged to every part of the society and were supporting the revolution; many were killed because of their appearance too.”

Qavami pointed out the need to develop a system to support the victims of terrorist acts saying: “Many countries have passed multiple laws in the field of counter-terrorism including those countries who have always been supportive to these insurgents. For example, The United States has passed multiple orders on the federal and state level to counter such acts.

Seyed Mehdi Qavami also said that with the help of these laws and the national offices active in this field, combating terrorism will be done in an effective, timely, and lawful manner. “The citizens who have been a victim to the terrorism can be supported too; especially in Iran where more than 17000 nationals have been hit hard by this savagery. The numbers are as high as war casualties.
