Expert of West Asian politics Seyedafqahi says that the US has put enormous pressure on Najib Miqati to reject the Iranian Aid to Lebanon after his cabinet has taken the office because if these aids reach this country, the American pressure and threats will fail.
In this episode of “Bedoone Khatkhordegi” we discussed the latest developments in Lebanon with the Expert of West Asian politics Seyed Hadi Seyedafqahi.
He mentioned the latest meeting between Najib Miqati and Michael Aoun saying: “Saad Hariri failed to shape his cabinet, after which Najib Miqati stepped forward who is the best available option to form the new government; unfortunately, the Partisanship, factionalism, and racial complexities have so far blocked all the efforts.
Seyedafqahi called the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Interior affairs, and the Defense Ministry the key to the formation of the new government. “These Ministries are called the one-third inhibitors. Michael Aoun is after controlling the government and restraining the Prime Minister. Therefore, the issue of the aforementioned ministries has not yet been solved.”
He further said that Najib Miqati is after appointing close associates to the key ministries so the inhibitor weapon doesn’t limit his power because these important ministries have the potential to dissolve his government whenever they want.
Seyedafqahi also said that after Seyed Hassan Nasrollah’s revolutionary step of breaking the American Siege and importing fuel from Iran, the US allowed the Lebanese authorities to visit Syria after a decade and make a deal on the financial issues. Most of the people belonging to different ethnicities of this country welcomed the step taken by Hezbollah’s leader.
“On the other hand, the US is pressurizing Miqati to stop the stream of the Aid from Iran after he has taken the office; They are afraid of its continuation; if it's not stopped the American show will come to an end and their threats and pressures will be neutralized.
He also said that the future of Lebanon and the formation of the new cabinet is interconnected. “We shall wait and see if the white smoke is blown from the office of the Prime Minister or not; implementation of the political will is directly attached to the formation of the new cabinet.”
