Rahimi Rezaei stressed that 9/11 should be regarded in the context of the US grand plan of Islamophobia and its presence in the West Asia; “The United States pursued some of its greater interests on 9/11 through this self-immolation.”
Radio Goftogoo's "Political Dialogue" program interviewed Ahmad Rahimi Rezaei, a researcher and international affairs expert, examining the consequences of 9/11 over the past 20 years, and the invasion and decline of US power in the region.
Ahmad Rahimi Rezaei pointed to the fact that more than 20 years have passed since the 9/11 attacks in 2001 while the ambiguities surrounding the incident aren’t yet solved for the world's public opinion; “Some still believe that the US authorities themselves were involved in this incident.”
He emphasized that the 9/11 attacks were defined in terms of a greater plan; “This is, in fact, the US influence in the Middle East. If we pay attention to historical events, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, kind of vacancy was created in the international order as a result the bipolar system decaying. In this regard, the United States took measures and groundwork to establish itself as the superior pole.”
“The purpose behind the US' introduction of a new world order was to put this country at the helm of the world power,” said Rahimi Rezaei in this phone call interview with Radio Goftogoo. “To fulfill this commitment, the United States needed a special platform which was created by Saddam's coordinated attack on Kuwait. The incident prompted the United States to form an international coalition led by Desert Storm Operation.”
He stated that the Greater Middle East plan was in fact a prelude to raise a discourse on fighting against terrorism and thus the US presence in West Asia; “The objective of this discourse was promoting Islamophobia. The Americans promoted Islamophobia under the pretext of fighting terrorism in order to establish themselves in the region and in the international system, as well as to divert the global public attention of a series of issues.”
In his remarks Rahimi Rezaei stressed that 9/11 should be regarded in the context of the US grand plan of Islamophobia and its presence in the West Asia; “The United States pursued some of its greater interests on 9/11, and through this it strengthened its grasp on oil fields and lines of vital energy existing West Asia. In fact, the United States secured its long-term gains by accepting the losses of 9/11.”
The international affairs expert then spoke about the ambiguities in re 9/11 events; “The various dimensions of this incident are extremely ambiguous, since it is basically not clear how the US intelligence service was unaware of such a large-scale incident. Of course, not all the systems in the United States were accommodated in this incident, but it seems that the US intelligence service was clearly coordinated in carrying out this operation.”
