Political Analyst Roohollah Modabber has said the confrontation between West and Russian and China is emerging day by day.
In this episode of Radio goftogoo’s “Goftogooye Vijeh” show, we discussed the Iranian President taking part in Shanghai Cooperation Conference’s (SCO) Heads of States meeting with Political Analyst and University Professor Roohollah Modabber.
He explained Iran’s previous position as a non-member observer state and called it a result of US pressure on some of its allies in the past. He also said the due to the fact that the new President of Iran has changed its approach in its foreign policy, the Chinese and the Russians have cleared the obstacles reciprocally. The Russians have also seriously supported Iran for its permanent membership in this Organization.
Roohollah Modabber further said that a few years back, because of the US pressure Tajikistan had voted against Iran’s membership; “When Mr. Raeisi got elected, The Tajik Ambassador announced that now his country supports Iran’s Participation in this conference as a permanent member and the previous stance on this issue has changed.”
He mentioned that the global system has changed its path towards disagreement with unipolar leadership; “The Conflict between the West and the Russian and Chinese is emerging day by day and because of the stance the new administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran has taken against the West and towards the East, the members of SCO consented to Iran’s permanent membership in this treaty.”
Modabber pointed out Iran’s capability as the world’s sixteenth largest country and its rich historical heritage saying that Iran is located at the crossroads of East and the West and binds two of the largest energy centers of the globe in the twenty first century. Iran is in acquisition of ten percent of Natural oil reserves and seventeen percent of Gas Reservoirs which is important to the other member states of the SCO.
“Iran’s membership provides the opportunity of sea transport to those members of the organization who are surrounded by land. Transit issue is also a focal point for the member states; Vladimir Putin had raised the north to south corridor plan during the Saint Petersburg meeting. Iran, China and Russia were the parties to this plan.”
