In this episode of “Bedoone Khatkhordegi” we discussed the latest situation on the borders of Iran and Azerbaijan. Former Iranian Ambassador to the Republic of Azerbaijan had joined us in this show through a telephone call.

Pakaeen pointed out that the Republic of Azerbaijan had deepened its relations with the Zionist Regime from the early days of its independence saying: “One of the reasons behind this association was its rivalry with Armenia; thus, they were among the costumers of Israeli made weapons.”

He added that the Zionist regime has been behind the latest developments and the rest of the anti-Iran plots in the Caucasus region.

“Besides the weapon trade, the Zionist regime has been involved in espionage activities against Tehran which has been under Iran’s intelligence office’s watchful eyes.”

Iran’s former Ambassador to Azerbaijan called the policies of Elham Aliyev regarding the regional situation and Iran a calculation mistake and said that the Azeri President assumed that because of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s pro-Baku stance regarding the Karabakh conflict, Tehran will remain silent on his intention of blocking the Armenian and Iranian border too.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran is basically against the alteration of the globally recognized borders; either it’s the Karabakh or the Iranian-Armenian territory. Iran has always encouraged the territorial integrity of every country in the world.”

Mohsen Pakaeen also analyzed the Turkish involvement in this crisis. “It seems that the Turks have also provoked Elham Aliyev; The discord between the Turks and the Armenians dates back to a hundred years and they’re trying to benefit from the war-like situation between Azerbaijan and Armenia as well.”

Iran’s former diplomat recalled the drills conducted by the Iranian Army on the northwestern borders and said that Baku has well understood Iran’s clear stance on this issue while he's trying to balance his statements regarding regional developments.
