Ukraine's most glaring weakness is its subservience policies towards the West and misplaced trust in the empty promises of the US and the UK, according to an Iranian international relations expert, Mohsen Pakaein.
In his telephone interview with Radio Goftogoo he said: “From the beginning they (Washington and London) were trying to provoke Russia into a war, and now we are witnessing the result of their have pushed the European Union into a grave crisis, and incited Russia into a war.”
Referring to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s over dependence on NATO and member states, the Iranian expert said: “Russia in order to defend Ukrainians of Russian stock as well as to check NATO’s eastward expansion felt no other choice to but to mobilize its forces towards (the capital) Kiev.”
According to him the fall of Kiev and the Ukrainian government is imminent, and this is due to the inability of NATO which is actually an unreliable organization on the verge of collapse.
On the latest developments that indicate the Russian army, along with the Belarusian forces, has entered Ukraine from different directions and is on the suburbs of Kiev with the intention to march inside, Pakaein said: “NATO’s only reaction despite its previous claims of defending Ukraine is to sanction Russia, which has already become used to the West’s sanctions and considers them to be manageable.”
The Iranian expert pointed out: “Countries like the United States can no longer impose their views on the rest of the world through NATO’s military power. The events in Kiev clearly show that unilateralist approaches will work no more.”
He took note of the US defeats in Afghanistan and Iraq, and the American public’s opposition to more military adventures, and said the US is not willing to send its troops to defend Ukraine.
The Iranian expert concluded that the current war is due to the Ukrainian president’s misplaced trust in the US and Britain, which were plotting to embroil Russia with the European Union.
