In an interview with "Be Sabke Bahar" talk show, Majid Reza Hariri discussed the nature and benefits of the Iran-China 25-year cooperation document; "The fact is that no agreement has been written down and nothing special has happened."

He continued that some people are crying out that we sold the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman; "These words are scattered in the cyberspace and their source is generally related to the overseas agencies.”

Hariri said; "Today, the emphasis is on the Chinese Foreign Minister's regional trip to Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, and Iran rather than the signing of this document."

“For the past two years, preparation of a document, and not a contract, memorandum or agreement, has been seriously considered, i.e. the two countries agreed to create a roadmap for the next 25 years to determine in what grounds should they manage their activities,” added Hariri.

Chairman of the Iran-China joint chamber of commerce and industries declared that this document includes security, military, political, cultural and scientific issues, and has an economic structure; “After the formation of the new parliament, an office was given to Mr. Larijani to review [the contract].

"Ordinary people who are not aware of this story, should not be worried and they shouldn’t believe what is said in the cyberspace," he said, emphasizing that no numbers were mentioned in this document.

Hariri also said that inside our country, some trends are against the ruling system of Iran and China, and that they are those who object to this agreement.

Chairman of the Iran-China joint chamber of commerce and industries continued; "If China was to be changed with the United States, 90% of the current proponents would change their positions altogether."

"The whole document has been published and if anyone has any criticism on it, this is another matter, but" saying no "is another matter," added Hariri.

In response to this question that, “Isn't this basically a one-sided document?” he said; "Today we sell oil and gas, and in this comprehensive document, we intend to build a petrochemical town to turn raw oil into a product, "or mines that are less known, are to be exploited with [China’s] technology.”

Hariri considered the construction of rails, railways, ports, etc. as part of this document and emphasized; "No figures are yet included in this document."

Chairman of the Iran-China joint chamber of commerce and industries uttered; "Source of the news which spread about renting (Iran’s resources) is in two articles written by a person named Simon and he has published numbers and figures."

"All the citations in these two articles are written by one person, and I am sorry that not all of our media outlets are able to satisfy public opinion as much as a few overseas TV channels," Hariri said.

He continued’ "All organizations have a news section, and a lot is spent for news agencies, if they can’t influence our public opinion as much as an anonymous foreign site, something should really be done about it!"

In another part of this interview with Radio Goftogoo, Hariri stated that since the presidency of Ayatollah Khamenei, we have had all kinds of relations with China; "Regarding the existing weaknesses, an agent was appointed to be responsible for this document so that this contract would basically has nothing to do with the governments.”

"We were once China's first partner, but today we are China's fifth partner in the region, and the Arab countries are ahead of us," said Hariri.
