The Head of the Iran and Iraq joint chamber of commerce says that according to the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, all of the Iranian Embassies across the world are obliged to promote the economic and cultural sector. “Our Ambassadors must assist this practical approach towards our goals.”
Head of the Iran and Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce Yahya Ale-Eshaq further told our host that we will give priority to our neighboring countries, the 25 years’ cooperation with china, and deepen our bilateral trade with India and Russia.
“Europe isn’t limited to Germany, France, and the UK and we will establish or deepen our relations with other states as well.”
Ale-Eshaq also said that our Ambassadors must play their role in this regard.
He also added that coordination between diplomacy and the economic sector would elevate the level of macroeconomics desirably.
“There are countries who have an annual 1200 Billion Dollars of imports and exports. [With a reasonable policy] we can have a 200 to 300 Billion Dollars share of their trade.”
Former Trade Minister stated that the above-mentioned numbers can resolve most of our problems in the economy. “We can export Energy to Turkey up to 30 billion Dollars and Afghanistan is another ripe market to explore.”
Ale-Eshaq called international trade an issue that must be addressed and pursued by our diplomatic missions.
He added that so far the subject of international trade, the role of the ambassadors and organizations has been undermined in Iran saying that so far we have only 7 trade attachés across the world.
Ale Eshaq added that with our old-fashioned policies we are not able to reach the target of 200 billion dollars of international trade. “If we’re able to manage our contracts with China, Russia, India, and many other countries in the correct order, we may gain our position in the international trade sector.
The Head of the Iran and Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce added that after the implementation of the new policies, the ambassadors should be made answerable for their activities.
