Iranian Ambassador to China Mohammad Keshavarzzadeh told our host that during his visit, the 25-year deal was implemented and its impressions will be seen shortly.
In our program “Amvaje Shobhe (The waves of doubt)” we discussed the strategic agreement between Iran and China with the Iranian Ambassador to the Republic of China Mohammad Keshavarzzadeh through a telephone call.
Mr. Ambassador started by mentioning the 50th anniversary of Iran and China diplomatic relations and said that the mutual relations date back hundreds of years when the silk road was built with the same purpose in mind.
He pointed out the high economic growth of China saying: “China is a permanent member of the Security Council of the United Nations and has an extensive role in global equations. This country has made lots of progress in multiple fields including the economy. “They’ve maintained an eight percent growth amid pandemic.”
Iran’s Ambassador to the Republic of China added that Beijing’s global trade has reached Forty-six hundred billion dollars and said that their import volume has remained at two thousand dollars.
“China and Iran have always played a pivotal role in the global affairs and were eager to upgrade their relations to a higher status. Necessary steps were also taken to bring the relations to the desired path but unfortunately, after the JCPOA our relations were damaged.”
Mr. Keshavarzzadeh further said that after the US left the Nuclear Deal and imposed its maximum pressure policy, China came to Iran’s assistance and bought a large volume of Iranian crude oil; it happened despite the US threatening other countries to stop buying oil from Iran.
Mr. Ambassador added that the Strategic 25 years’ cooperation agreement was signed last year in the March which is the base of the starting point for the development of bilateral relations.
During our conversation with the Iranian Ambassador to China, he recalled the pressures imposed on Iran by the US to rely on the West as the only savior and said that the latest developments in Iran’s foreign policy, especially in our terms with China and Russia, the western countries are no more in a position of bullying Tehran. “We’ve stood in the face of the US tyranny for the past forty-two years and will continue to do so.”
Mohammad Keshavarzzadeh called the Chinese growth an astonishing one which has resulted in all the countries’ attraction in developing relations with China. “Despite all the American embargoes, the Chinese assisted Iran greatly. The latest example is the Vaccine; During the past few months, we imported millions of doses of Corona Vaccines from China. If we wanted to make such a deal with the west, it simply couldn’t get through; if we decide to get vaccines from the west today, they will reject our request and even if they do so, the price will be extremely high.”
Iran’s Ambassador to Beijing pointed out the Foreign Minister’s official trip to China and said that the twenty-five-year roadmap was implemented During Dr. Amirabdollahian’s visit and its positive results will become clear shortly.
