Mohraz stated that they will expect a large volume of vaccines by the summer and hope to vaccinate most of the population; “According to the officials of Barakat Industrial Company, up to 30 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine will be delivered by mid-summer.”
"Morning Dialogue" program on Radio Goftogoo, had a phone call interview with Dr. Minoo Mohraz, a member of think tank committee of National Anti-Coronavirus Headquarters, where she mentioned the latest updates on corona vaccine.
Referring to corona vaccination in the country, Minoo Mohraz said: "All countries started vaccination according to their protocol, first from people who are more at risk. In Iran, this process has begun and vaccination is done with vaccines that are purchased in series. Right now the elderly are being vaccinated.”
She pointed out the status of corona vaccine production in Iran; “The third phase of the ‘Co Iran Barakat ’ will begin in a few days and will be injected into 20,000 people all over Iran. The first and second steps one were fine and we hope it will reach mass production soon. Barakat officials promised to produce the vaccine by mid-summer.”
The member of the National Anti-Corona Headquarters then said about other vaccine production programs; “Besides ‘Barakat’, there is another vaccine that Cuba is producing in Iran in cooperation with Pasteur Institute, which its third phase, the clinical trial, has already started. If it goes well, that vaccine will also be produced.”
“We’re also working on ‘Fakhra’ vaccine which contains inactivated virus, and is passing its clinical stages,” she added.
Mohraz emphasized that they will expect a large volume of vaccines by the summer and hope to vaccinate most of the population; “According to the officials of Barakat Industrial Company, up to 30 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine will be delivered by mid-summer.”
She noted; “Until then, people should be very observant and cautious, and the good news shouldn’t make people ignore the protocols.”
The member of the think tank committee of National Anti-Corona Headquarters advised; “I advise my compatriots that even after getting vaccinated, they wear face masks, wash their hands and observe social distancing.”
