“There’s no problem regarding the Barakat vaccine, and by September this year, with the launch of the main production line, it will reach a production of 50 million doses per month,” said Dr. Tabarsi on Radio Goftogoo
Dr. Payam Tabarsi, Head of Infectious Disease Department at Masih Daneshvari Hospital, had a phone call interview with ‘Morning Dialogue’ program about vaccination against Covid-19.
Referring to the new imported vaccines for the second round, Dr. Tabarsi noted; “Iranian vaccines have an emergency license and fortunately they don’t have any special side effects, and in the third phase, their effectiveness will be determined.”
He described the Iranian vaccines as a good option for those who do not prioritize vaccination and explained; “The Pasteur vaccine was proved to be effective in Cuba and Iran, and due to the easing of sanctions, foreign vaccines are easily imported.”
Head of Infectious Disease Department of Masih Daneshvari Hospital advised the government to plan for Covid-19 vaccination and said; “Permanent, repetitive and complicated work has had a bad effect on the medical staff and I hope we’ll soon see a solution to this problem.”
Tabarsi mentioned that the infrastructure of Barakat vaccine factory is ready; “There’s no problem regarding the Barakat vaccine, and by September this year, it will reach a production of 50 million doses per month with the launch of main production line, and there will be no problems for producing other vaccines either.”
Head of Infectious Disease Department at Masih Daneshvari Hospital stressed that vaccination is a priority; “Until the general vaccination is completed, it is important to follow the health protocols.”
