In this episode of our medical show “Rozaneh”, confronting the Coronavirus through pathological means was discussed and Shahid Beheshti Medical University’s Head of Virology Research Center Dr. Alireza Naji joined us to clarify the topic.

He believes that inappropriate and late decisions resulted in the crisis getting deeper and extensive.

Dr. Naji says the medical protocols are also being evaded and most of the times we lack a strict supervision on the implementation of the rules.

He also said that the new wave of this pandemic won’t recess easily. “Cases of hospitalizations and outpatients have increased which indicates that a desirable condition is not achievable in a short period.”

Alireza Naji added that 5 to 10 percent of the Corona Patients are treated at home.

He said that the 4th and the 5th wave of the disease followed the same pattern of circulation and the suspicious provinces had to be quarantined in the first place to stop the Delta variant.

“Now, 70 percent of the patients are displaying the signs of the Delta variant.”

He further said that the Mass Vaccination is the most important and effective way to control the pandemic.

“Maybe some of the vaccines are not able to create a complete immunity from the Delta version but they’re effective in containing the virus.”

He said for stopping the people from making a trip during the pandemic, sometimes military force must be used to guarantee the quarantine.
