According to Radio Goftgoo news site, Dr. Morteza Izadi, Professor of Infectious Diseases and Deputy of the Infectious Diseases Association, had a phone call interview with the "Social Dialogue" program regarding Corona, and he discussed a variety of topics including medicine shortages and the challenge for treatment; “This virus will beat us if we don’t act well in controlling it and don’t we acquire a smart viewpoint about it.”
He stressed that we have to change our view about the virus, and not look at it as a disease, but as a social situation; “The social situation of the corona has three sides, the first being the economy of society, family and country. The second side is the security situation of the individual and society, and the third is the health of the individual, which are not necessarily equal. In Corona, the three sides are intertwined, and if they managed to control the virus in China, it was because in addition to strict regulations, strict protection and tough health rules were also implemented.
Izadi added; “We didn’t act well in controlling Corona. We did well only in the first peak, which was due to reasons such as high solidarity between people, people's understanding of the disease, and change of socio-political conditions after June.”
* The coronavirus is ahead of the vaccine
The Deputy of the Infectious Diseases Association stressed that the corona virus is now ahead of the vaccine; “We should have vaccinated people when the cities were in blue and yellow condition, and not during the corona peak when the virus was circulating.”
He suggested; “Under current circumstances, we cannot stop vaccination based on the possibility that people might be a host to the virus, but we can get a complete history of people before the injection and not inject the hosts. Besides, we can make all areas that are yellow the base for vaccination.”
Izadi pointed out that the new variant of Corona virus is such that even if both sides wear a mask, it can approximately 70% prevent the spread of the virus; “45 days after the first injection of the vaccine, your body will be influenced by it, and it should be noted that the injection only decreases the disease symptoms.”
"Coronavirus is quite smart in infecting people, but the authorities should know that this is a witless virus we’re facing, and it can’t distinguish between Muslims and non-Muslims, rich and poor, weddings and mourning ceremonies," stated Izadi on Radio Goftogoo. It doesn’t possess the sense for recognizing places, and is ruthlessly present in all gatherings, so it is necessary for the authorities to prevent ceremonies and gatherings.”
*** Controlling Corona in our country requires 150 million doses of vaccine.
The Deputy of the Infectious Diseases Association criticized the performance of the National Corona headquarters and its disorders, stressing that only one person should make the decisions in the headquarters; “If we are to control Corona in our country, we need 140 to 150 million doses of vaccine in 6 months so that we can get 75% of the population vaccinated.”
Izadi emphasized; “Vaccination is the first key, but it is not the main key, and fortunately in terms of treatment, Iran has been one of the most successful countries due to the successful and dedicated work of our medical staff, doctors and nurses."
